The aid scheme Sustainable Shipbuilding is intended for shipyards who wish to perform a shipbuilding innovation project that makes a contribution to sustainable development.

To benefit from this scheme, the application must in any case fulfill the following conditions:

• The vessel to be constructed or converted must be an inland barge or an ocean vessel with a gross weight above 100 tons or a tugboat with a power above 365 KW. Fishing vessels are not eligible.
• The contract for the construction or conversion of the vessel may not be concluded at the time of the submission of the application, however the contracting must be planned.

In addition to the above, the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO.nl) and an external advisory committee shall assess the applications, in order to determine whether the applications meet the conditions of the scheme.
